Ok, this is the same question I asked multiple times earlier so if i say something weird on the bottom it is from additional details before. I keep asking it because I keep getting good responses and ideas each time and I want any precautions anyone may have or cool ideas. I don’t have glue but i have duct tape.
I’m making a clubhouse for my three rats, all males, one big, the others small. (scorpious rayn Kusa)
I am making them a clubhouse to put them in. I can’t have free ranging rats but i hope they will like this. I started with the box from a guitar hero world tour full set, and i made a small house stuffed with cotton for fun, and i will add other cool things in it, and i turned it upside down and added a small entrance hole. Now i am collecting a bunch of cardboard and other objects. I smuggled a paper towel roll with some towel left on it (not that difficult–it isn’t as if I committed a huge crime if i am found out) and I want to make a tunnel out of it, i have an empty cake box, and i am asking every one to give me our cereal boxes, pasta boxes, etc. when they use them but i don’t know if they will, even if they remember. I want to keep making it until I can’t possibly make it bigger, using a bunch of stuff over time, always adding extensions.
Now, for the question, what are some good ideas for doing it, and if you do this, please add images? don’t give me anything off dapper rat. That is where i got the idea and i read it thoroughly. What are some things you don’t advise me to do, precautions to take so that it won’t fall apart, anything you can think of. oh, and some ideas of how to get them out when they need to go back in the cage please. . . . . .
and anything else you can think of to tell me. thanks!

So far i have cut a rectangle and shoved a heater box into it, making it fit nicely, and made a ramp going from it down to the bottom. At the top of the box I will cut a small hole to use as a passageway, where i will have a cake box as a small area to squeeze in, then a paper towel roll (maybe) and when they can finally get out again, I will make a dark, but wide ope space with a window and some rat furniture. . . maybe i will put some type of lightish thing is there like a rat night light, and I want to make a window. I thought about cutting a small hole, and criss-crossing string with small holes to allow a bit of view, and a tiny bit of light. I willing have to intertwine multiple pieces together though to make it more difficult to gnaw through, although it will inevitably happen in the end.

hear me ramble! geez, why can’t i type as little as i sometimes talk. . . . . sorry.

To Alice McTrice, I am making a certain rat or THREE happy! at least I hope so. . . . They will probably all escape. And i am not planning on leaving them unsupervised if anyone was under that impression, don’t worry!
So does anyone think a paper towel roll might be too small for them? i know they can squeeze through tight spots, and I think Rayn and Kusa are all right, but when they get bigger, and Scorpious now, I am afraid that he might have trouble, and chew himself out and make himself fall.

Oh, and they don’t know their names. I barely got Rayn and Kusa two weeks ago, and I have had Scorpious since last September but I am not completely an expert trainer, and he is stubborn. I have a clicker but the best treat i could give would be a bit of apple, sometimes banana or rolled oats, or a carrot.
I’ll probably have to make sure I am not going anywhere anytime soon whenever I put them in. even if they love it, I can’t watch them. . . . all i could hear is their squeaks and possibly chewing.

I have a vintage bedroom set I would like to sell. The finish on the tops of 2 of the pieces is somewhat worn. I would like to “touch them up” & am thinking of trying to match the original stain or putting a couple of coats of scratch remover on them. Anyone have any thoughts on which one would work out the best? I don’t want to get involved with a long drawn out project, just looking for the best quick fix.
