My best friend’s mom came to me today to tell me that she lost her job and is no longer able to pay her mortgage, and not only that she owes money so won’t be make money on it. She will sell me her condo and will not be making any money from it. I want to buy it but my friend will live with me and I will even have furniture already there, problem is. I don’t know if it would be a good idea to live with my friend. I want the place to be my own and knowing he’s lived there for a long time feel like he may have a sense of ownership still. It’s tough, and it’s tough for his mom. She can’t find a job, and has lost everything. I can tell she wanted to cry, and it almost seems like she feels her kids are causing her more emotional pain as well. What should I do?
I wanted to be able to help her emotionally but I don’t know the words to say to let her know I care. Any advice for any of the matters?

We’re downsizing and need to get rid of some furniture and assorted antiques. Has anyone out there had experience dealing with auction houses or estate sale dealers?

Should we send the stuff to an auction house(some of the pieces are large)? Have an on-site auction? Have an estate-type sale? We’re trying to decide which way to go.

I live in Texas and I have what I have bought furniture from Ashley Furniture. I am about to leave my apartment and into a house, and I want new furniture to go with him. My current bedroom furniture consists of a bed frame, mattress (pillow top), headboard, nightstand, 6 drawer dresser with large mirror, 6 drawers, drawers, furniture and television. All parts are black with silver lining and foot silver retro. I just purchased a year ago, and is not really my style. . . . I thought maybe sell on eBay or Craigslist, but I wanted to see if there were other alternatives. . . Help please!

We are thinking about starting a small shop in our dog grooming shop and are wondering what products are the ‘hot sellers’ in other people’s shops. We would definately sell the most commonly asked things: brushes of various kids to work with different coat and skin types, combs, and cologne.

We have tried to sell stuffed toys, tennis balls, rawhide bones and bandanna’s with absolutely no success after two years. We are located in a very small town so we need to be able to accomidate the middle class rank. Nothing too frilly or expensive would ever sell. (costumes, custom photography, dog furniture, ect. )

Any recommendations?
